Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using AfterCut Studio ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AfterCut Studio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and AfterCut Studio ("we", "us", "our").

If you obtained AfterCut Studio through the Mac App Store, your use is governed by the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple EULA) in addition to these Terms. In the event of a conflict, the Apple EULA takes precedence for Mac App Store purchases.

3.2 Website Distribution

If you obtained AfterCut Studio from our website, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on macOS devices you own or control, subject to a valid license key and these Terms. License keys are validated through the Polar.sh licensing service. A working internet connection may be required for license activation and periodic validation.

4.1 Ownership

AfterCut Studio, including its code, design, graphics, user interface, and documentation, is the intellectual property of AfterCut Studio and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

You retain full ownership of all content you create using the App, including screen recordings, edited videos, and exported files. We claim no rights to your content. The App does not upload, transmit, or access your content in any way beyond local on-device processing.

AfterCut Studio requires certain macOS permissions to function. By granting these permissions, you authorize the App to:

You may revoke any permission at any time through macOS System Settings. Revoking the Screen Recording permission will prevent the App from functioning. Speech recognition is performed entirely on-device using Apple's system frameworks.

Updates are delivered through the Mac App Store according to your macOS update preferences.

The App may check for updates periodically by contacting our update server. This check transmits no personal data. You can disable automatic update checks in the App's preferences. We recommend keeping the App up to date for the best experience and latest security improvements.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable Apple EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and AfterCut Studio regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
